Abstract

From ancient times to the present, labor has undergone significant changes both in use and in practice. Labor, which is only a simple factor in the first periods, appears more complex and more functional in the later periods. After the formation of economic theories, labor began to be used as a dependent or independent variable in these theories. With the development of economic theories, theories such as labor-value, labor-utility, labor-time, labor-population, labor-human capital have been developed and continue to be developed. Labor has not only continued its development in economic theories, but has also changed in the way societies use it. Labor, which is a moral and social concept, has moved away from this meaning over time and its economic dimension has gained more importance. Today and in the future, the concept of labor will find its place in different meanings, in different uses and in different fields.
